CLARKSVILLE, TN - StormPay.com Dirt Late Model Series officials
announced they will be sanctioning three non-points events,
which are the only 2006 Florida Speedweeks Crate Late Model
events, on February 12, 13, and 14 at East Bay Raceway Park in
Tampa, FL. The February 12 and 13 events will each pay
$2,000-to-win, and the February 14 event pays $3,000-to-win. With the event being a non-points event, East Bay Raceway Park officials have asked StormPay.com officials to amend their 2006 tire rule for these events. StormPay.com Dirt Late Model Series official have agreed to let competitors have the option of competing with some additional tire compounds. The Hoosier Race Tire compounds allowed for the three races are the D21, D35, and D55. The American Racer Tire compounds allowed for the three races are the 44 and the 56. The Goodyear Racing Tire compounds allowed the three races are the G40 and G50. East Bay Raceway Park and StormPay.com Dirt Late Model Series officials also stated the hardest compounds - the Hoosier D55, the American Racer 56, and the Goodyear G50 - will be the only compounds permitted to be used on the right-rear of the race car. Aside from the amended tire rule, the three races will be run according to the StormPay.com Dirt Late Model Series rules and race procedures. This will mark the second visit in the last three months to East Bay Raceway Park for the StormPay.com Dirt Late Model Series. On December 2-3, 2005, Crate Racin' USA unveiled its new sponsor, StormPay.com during the $10,000-to-win Crate Racin' USA World Championship Race won by Jimmy Owens of Newport, TN. StormPay.com Dirt Late Model Series and East Bay Raceway Park officials have also announced the 2nd Annual StormPay.com Crate Racin' USA World Championship Race non-points event will take place on the 1/3-mile clay oval on December 15-16, 2006. StormPay.com Dirt Late Model Series officials will be announcing the 2006 24-race National Touring schedule in the coming days. Upcoming points events for the StormPay.com Dirt Late Model Series will be this Saturday afternoon at Columbus Speedway in Columbus, MS with a $2,000-to-win 40-lap main event. Golden Isle Speedway in Brunswick, GA will host a pair of $2,500-to-win points paying events on February 3 and 4 as a part of their Super Bowl of Racing. After the three East Bay non-points events on February 12, 13, and 14, the StormPay.com Dirt Late Model Series returns to points racing on March 31 and April 1 with a $5,000-to-win two-day show at Modoc Speedway in Modoc, SC.
