(January 27, 2006) Travis Rilat tried to make it two wins in as many nights of East Bay Raceway Park,s Eighth Annual King of the 360s preliminary action, but it was Terry McCarl turning the tables to capture Friday nights 25-lap OReilly American Sprint Cars on Tour presented by Loves Travel Stops & Country Stores. Rilat charged past Greg Wilson for the lead on the second round, with fourth-starter McCarl climbing to second the next time around. McCarl turned up the heat at the midway point as heavy lapped traffic came into play, racing by on the high side in turns one and two on the 16th round to take command. McCarl slipped away from Rilat in the final rounds to post the victory aboard Mark Burchs Morgan Farms/Engler No. 1m WolfWeld, with Rilat settling for the runner-up position. Jason Sides took the show position for the second night in a row, with Nick Smith and 15th-starter Tim Montgomery rounding out the top five. Darren Stewart crossed the stripe sixth, with Wilson, Jerrod Hull, Danny Smith and 17th-starter Sport Allen completing the top ten. Full recap to follow.
